Maria Walton James
Maria is a 37-year-old Cystic Fibrosis thriver living in Minneapolis, MN. Growing up in Duluth, her family worked hard to not let her CF stop them from activities such as camping or cross-country road trips while not missing a CF beat. This resiliency and creative thinking have allowed her to travel abroad, move across the country, excel in her career, and face any challenge with an open mind and positive attitude.
Maria has always dreamt of using her experiences with CF to help others but wasn’t sure what that looked like for her. As she has watched her nieces learn about her CF, they inspired her to share her experiences through children’s books. Maria’s goal is to create a series about CF while looking for ways to incorporate other physical, cognitive, or health-related differences so we can all learn with the same care and curiosity as her nieces.
